Top 3 Methods to Send Money from UK

Money transfers used to be a tedious and time consuming process. Even though a lot has changed over the last decade with strides in banking technology, it has also led to a different problem all together. These days there are so many remittance methods available that it is confusing and quite a task to figure out the best option in terms of speed, low transaction fee and other factors. Here are the top three ways to send money from UK:1. Online money transfer: Transfer of money online is an alternative to paper based money transfer like cheques, money orders. If you have an internet connection and activated online banking facility, this is the easiest way for sending money from the UK to Philippines. All you need is information about the recipient such as name, address, bank or financial institution details the money is being sent to, the SWIFT or IBAN code of the receiver bank. Online money transfer has two major advantages. One is that you do not incur banking charges which in some cases can be ridiculously high. The other advantage is that you can do it from wherever you are (home or office). Since reputed money transfer agencies offer low transfer fees and competitive exchange rates, it seems as if you are getting to send money to Philippines for free. 2. Wire transfer: The most common way to transfer money internationally is by wire transfer. To get a wire transfer done, you need to visit the branch of an agency such as Western Union or visit your bank branch. The bank or agency branch will need information from you about the recipient and details of the recipient’s bank or any other financial institution the money needs to be transferred to. Once all the required information is gathered by the bank or agency branch, they will send information to recipient’s bank or financial institution along with the wire transfer. The wire transfer process duration varies as per the institution and could take up to a couple of days.3. PayPal: It is similar to traditional money transfer agencies, except for the fact that it operates electronically. This is a good alternative to online money transfer using your bank. The other difference is that the sender is not charged. It is the receiver who gets charged. Exchange rate of transfer is applicable and a fee of 3.9% of the transaction is applicable for every international transaction. To carry out a transaction using PayPal, you will have to create a PayPal account by signing up on their website. While signing up, you need to enter your banking details which PayPal will verify. Once registered, all you need is the sender’s email address to transfer money. You just need to log in to PayPal’s website whenever you want to send the money. Click on ‘send money’, enter the recipient’s email address and amount and click send. That’s how simple it is to transfer money these days.

Chess Legends to Battle it Out

It was proclaimed as the battle of the year and even the game of the decade between two arch nemeses. It had the spectators with their mouth agape and their eyes dazed in an awestruck manner. I am not talking about a gladiator match of the ancient Roman days or the football clashes between heavyweight premier league clubs; but I was referring to the fourth round game of the Tata Steel Chess tournament that took place between Armenian player- Levon Aronian and Viswanathan Anand of India. There weren’t any men in protective gear brandishing their swords and shields nor were there men in colored and uniform shorts charging into each other while fighting over a ball, there were only a couple of bespectacled men, observing the chess board while calculating moves in their head with incomprehensible acumen. Chess game is more a battle of wits and brain than brawn.

Anand is not referred to as a chess Grandmaster without any reason. Ever since his first grandmaster in 1987, Viswanathan Anand profile is filled with laurels and awards. He is a World class chess prodigy who has won the World Chess Championship a record five times in 2000, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2012. He has held that position since the year 2007. Besides these, he has won the FIDE World Rapid Chess Champion in 2003 and has held the FIDE World Chess Championship for three years since 2000. He is the winner of the Chess Oscars six times. Keeping tab of his spectacular performances and plaudits he has acquired over the years for his country, Anand was awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in 1991–92 and the Padma Vibhushan- which is regarded as India’s second highest civilian award, in 2007.

Anand is all set to proceed to the fifth round of the Tata Steel Chess tournament where he will be clashing (mentally) against the Norway champion and World Number One- Magnus Carlsen. It is no secret that Viswanathan Anand and Carlsen have a personal rivalry going on as they have been alternating for the number one position for over a decade. It all started with Anand dropping down to the third position in 1996 after which Carlsen reigned supreme for a while till the November of 2010, when Anand claimed the title after beating Carlsen at the Bilbao Masters. The following year, Carlsen took over as Number one and it is yet to be decide if the history will repeat itself yet again at the fifth round of the Tata Steel Chess tournament.

7 Ways to Make Yourself Eat Healthier

If you take a look at most people’s New Year’s resolutions, it will most likely include a goal to try and eat healthier. Eating well, especially in today’s age of constant hustle and bustle, is a challenge for many people. Some goals can be achieved through sheer willpower. homemade laxative, changing eating habits takes a little more ingenuity.

Since we eat multiple times a day, it can be tough to break eating habits that have been entrenched for a lifetime. We really have to make active decisions that FORCE ourselves to eat better, therefore making it a habit. Here are some great ways to get started:

Have no meat on one day: Most people have a meat dish at least once a day, especially for dinner. There is nothing wrong with certain types of meat themselves, but having too much meat can lead to high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Try to go one day of the week having just veggie dishes. It will be much healthier than meat and cheaper too.
Drink black coffee. Coffee is a staple in most people’s mornings, and since many people like lots of sugar in their coffee, you are starting your day off in an unhealthy way. This can be especially bad if you get specialty drinks from Starbucks or any other coffee shop, as they are usually packed with sugar. Try to convert towards black coffee. Taking out the sugar will be so much better for your health and you will still get the health benefits from coffee itself.
Roast, not fry. Frying makes food tastes great but uses an unhealthy amount of oil. Roasting food makes food taste great as well, but uses much less oil and is much healthier. Roasted vegetables are a great side dish for any meal.
Change the way you snack. Whether it’s at work or home, we love snacking throughout the day. And this is where a good amount of unhealthy weight gain can occur, but it’s also easy to replace with healthy snacks. Simply avoid processed foods and snack on fruits, veggies and nuts. Snacks that come in packages are usually loaded with sugar and lack any nutrition.
Decrease buying lunch. Eating out a lot can become very unhealthy as well as expensive. Fast food meals contain a lot of sodium and usually lack fruit and vegetable choices. Start bringing your own lunch a few times a week. This will be a lot healthier and will save you some money as well.
Eat veggies first. If you are able to get some veggies on your plate, that’s a great start. But try to finish them first before anything else. This will let you fill up on veggies, the good stuff, while keeping potential unhealthy foods like red meat and potatoes to a minimum.
Cut out the soda. If there is one food or beverage choice that can win the prize for unhealthiness, it’s definitely soda. Soda is packed with sugar and has absolutely no nutritional value. It has been clearly linked to an increase in weight gain and diabetes. If you simply replace drinking soda with water, you will do yourself much good. While not as bad, diet sodas are still not the best. They can cause you to eat more and are still bad for the teeth.
